Google Celebrates Barcode Invention With a Doodle

Today’s Google home page is decorated with barcode doodle to mark the invention of barcode. It was on 20th October 1949, three graduate students filed a patent for their invention of barcode.  The patient was issued on 7th October 1952.

This doodle looks little different from the general Google doogles that have text Google in their design. May be the barcode has some relevance to Google, but we are not sure. What are you thoughts?

  1. I guess the barcode reads “google” in the coded format. Decode the barcode and you will get “google”.

    Just a guess :)
