If you own a blogspot.com blog that shares MP3 songs or links to download MP3s then here is some important news. Today Google deleted at least six popular music blogs that it claims violated copyright law.

The popular sites Pop Tarts, Masala, I Rock Cleveland, To Die By Your Side, It’s a Rap and Living Ears hosted by Google’s Blogspot services are wiped off from the internet and their respective owners does not even get access to backup the content.

For Bollywood music MP3 downloads, blogspot blogs are notoriously famous. Just hours after the official release of any Bollywood music, the links to download the pirated MP3 files spread across the blogspot blogs like wild fire (a Google search of 3 Idiots movie mp3 would return you thousands of  blogspot.com blog links). So this may be a alarming message to all these blogspot.com blogs that promote music piracy.

Google may be acting very well within the  law by taking down the website that violate the TOC of blogger, but this incident shows once again that it’s always advisable to build blogs on custom hosting instead of leaving in other’s hand.

So if you have a music blog, it’s right time for you quickly act and take backup and move it to your own WordPress hosting.
