Safari Browser Introduces iPOD Like Cover Flow Interface To Flip Though Web Pages

The web browsers war is heating up like never before for the past 1 year. Apple has released Safari 4 beta version with a range of new features like Cover Flow Web History & Bookmark page browsing, full history searching, faster java script engine, top sites and many more.

Out of all the features introduced in Safari 4 beta, iPOD style Cover Flow is the eye candy. Cover Flow offers a highly visual way of reviewing your site history and bookmarked sites, presenting full-page previews of the websites that look exactly as they did when you last visited them.

Cover Flow Interface

If you keep the eye candy aside, the most remarkable feature is the fastest javascript engine that runs up to 30 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and more than 3 times faster than Firefox 3 based(this is apple’s claim, yet to be assessed by the reviewers). Here is a javascript test result released by Apple team

Hey Microsoft, are you looking at this results? You are in the browser market for more than a decade but look at the pathetic performance of the IE 7. And IE 8 is no where close to the performance of Safari & Chrome. You really need to work hard.

Okay, lets get back to the new features of Safari

Top Sites – Similar to Google Chrome’s home page, Top Sites displays the most visited web pages with an eye catching interface

Tabs On Top – The tabs are moved to the top edge of the window just similar to  Google Chrome.

Full History Search – Allows you to search through the entire history of the web browser

You can read more about the new features and download the free beta from Apple Website.
